About the project

At the 3656 McKechnie project in West Vancouver, Nexvan Construction Management was responsible for the full scope of site preparation and landscaping work. The scope of this project included all stages of excavation, soil removal and backfilling, loading and unloading, hauling and off-site disposal of surplus soil, trenching and preparation of service routes (including electrical runs), grading, levelling, full base preparation, ground stabilization, and proper compaction. The project also involved hard landscaping work, including the preparation and installation of landscape block elements such as Allan Block, as well as the construction and installation of rock retaining walls using heavy equipment such as an excavator. In addition, gravel placement, grading, surface shaping, and hydro press/plate compaction were completed in accordance with the required construction standards. All necessary concrete works for the project were also carried out, and once the main scope was completed, the site was thoroughly cleaned and prepared for final delivery. In the final phase, boxing, finishing, and final surface preparation were completed, along with the full scope of soft landscaping, including final soil placement, preparation of green areas, lawn installation, and completion of the landscape layout. This project was delivered with a strong focus on quality workmanship, precise coordination across all stages, and a clean, professional finish meeting the client’s expectations.

As part of the final landscaping phase, tree planting will be carefully scheduled to meet the City of West Vancouver’s requirements and final inspection standards. One of the key steps in this project was completing the tree installation before the final site record and City sign-off, as the municipality typically reviews landscape compliance, planting areas, and overall site conditions during the final inspection. For this reason, all tree planting, soil preparation, root zone layout, drainage considerations, and final grading adjustments were completed in advance to ensure the project could be delivered on time, fully compliant with City requirements, and finished to a clean professional standard.
